Privacy Policy

How Bentto handles customer, vendor, transaction, location and support information.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Bentto ("Bentto", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the Bentto website, customer app, Bentto Partner/vendor experience, payment and cashback features, support channels, and related services.

Bentto is designed to connect customers with nearby businesses, enable eligible in-store or online transactions, provide cashback or rewards, and give participating businesses tools for payments, customer engagement and business insights.

2. Information we may collect

Account and profile information

Name, mobile number, email address where provided, profile details, OTP verification status, saved locations, preferences and account settings.

Location information

With permission, we may use precise or approximate location to show nearby businesses, calculate distance, support branch selection, improve fulfilment, and prevent location-related transaction abuse. You can control location permission through your device settings.

Transaction, payment and cashback information

We may process order or transaction amount, merchant/branch, transaction reference, payment status, refund status, cashback earned/reversed/redeemed, settlement references and related timestamps. Sensitive payment credentials are processed by authorised payment partners. Bentto does not require you to disclose UPI PINs, card PINs, CVVs or banking OTPs to Bentto.

Vendor and business information

For vendors, we may process business name, branch details, category, catalogue information, authorised user details, bank/settlement information and verification/KYC information where required for onboarding or compliance.

Device, technical and usage information

App version, device model, operating system, IP address, identifiers, crash logs, security events, pages/screens viewed, feature usage, timestamps and diagnostic information.

Support and communications

Messages, complaints, feedback, call/email details and documents you voluntarily provide when contacting Bentto support.

3. How we use information

  • Create and secure customer and vendor accounts.
  • Show relevant nearby businesses, offers and branches.
  • Process and verify payments, refunds, settlements, cashback and rewards.
  • Detect duplicate, fraudulent, abusive or unauthorised transactions.
  • Provide order, fulfilment or delivery features where enabled.
  • Operate vendor dashboards, transaction history and business insights.
  • Provide customer service and resolve disputes.
  • Improve product reliability, performance, safety and user experience.
  • Send service notices, security alerts and, where permitted, relevant offers or promotions.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, audit and payment-partner requirements.

4. When information may be shared

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with participating merchants or vendors, payment gateways and banking partners, cloud/hosting and security providers, analytics and communication service providers, delivery or logistics partners where applicable, professional advisers, and government or law-enforcement authorities where legally required.

When you transact with a participating merchant, that merchant may receive transaction and customer information needed to fulfil the purchase, issue a bill, handle a refund, or provide support.

5. Payment information

Payments may be processed by third-party payment service providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. Bentto seeks to minimise the payment information it stores and does not intentionally store full card credentials, UPI PINs, CVVs or one-time banking passwords.

6. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain transaction and cashback records, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may differ by data category and applicable law.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No online system is completely risk-free, so users should also protect device access, OTPs and payment credentials.

8. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of certain personal information, withdraw optional permissions, opt out of promotional communications, or request account closure. Some transaction or compliance records may need to be retained even after account deletion.

9. Children's privacy

Bentto is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children who are not legally capable of entering into the relevant transaction or consent under applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us for review.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Bentto's services, payment integrations or legal obligations change. The updated version will show a revised effective date and will be published on the website or app.
